Congressman Larry Bucshon Votes for Middle Class Tax Relief
(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Payroll Tax Holiday Extension.
Congressman Bucshon (IN-08) states:
“As a Republican, keeping taxes low on hard working taxpayers is my goal. It was important to vote in favor of a bill that will provide tax relief to 160 million working Americans. During these tough economic times, it is our responsibility to aid families by allowing them to keep more of their hard earned money in their pockets and not in Washington, D.C. In addition, I am pleased that the conference report included crucial reforms to unemployment insurance benefits that maintains the safety net, prevents citizens from being trapped by the system, and encourages employment. Also, providing certainty to physicians that treat Medicare patients will avoid access issues for those that need quality care. All government spending on the unemployment extension and ‘doc fix’ are fully paid for with cuts elsewhere in the federal budget.”
