Dr. Bucshon’s Statement on the United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement
Washington,
October 1, 2018
“I am pleased to see that a trilateral agreement has been reached between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Throughout this renegotiation for a fairer, smarter, and modern trade deal, President Trump remained steadfast in his efforts to create more reciprocal trade, support American jobs, and protect American intellectual property. The previous trade deal, NAFTA, was nearly 25 years old and in desperate need of modernization to keep up with demands of the 21st century. I look forward to reviewing the agreement in greater detail to ensure that it promotes a level playing field and creates expanded opportunities for Hoosier farmers, manufacturers, and workers.” |
