(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after being sworn in for a fifth term as the United States Representative for Indiana’s Eight Congressional District on the opening day of the 116th Congress:

“I am humbled and honored to have the privilege of serving Hoosiers in Southwest Indiana. The Eighth Congressional district and the state of Indiana have roared back to life over the last few years thanks to pro-growth, Republican policies and leadership. Over the past two years, I am proud to have supported the biggest tax reform in a generation, full funding for our military, and a historic rollback of unnecessary Washington red tape. In the coming Congress, it is imperative that we continue building on this record of success and do the jobs we were sent here to do – to legislate on behalf of the American people. While Republicans and Democrats may not agree on everything, what I hope we can agree on is the need to put political careers and self-interests aside and make the tough decisions so we can continue moving America forward.”
