Bucshon hopeful of deal to end government shutdown

Congressman Larry Bucshon is hoping for a deal to end the government shutdown. “All of us want it to end,” Bucshon said. “We know there are federal workers who are not getting their paychecks. I’ll be holding my paycheck also, until federal workers get theirs.” Bucshon says lawmakers on both sides of the aisle want a compromise. But it's up to the leadership and the White House to make it happen. Bucshon did reiterate his support for more border security. “Border security is very important. We do have a change in the type of people coming across the southern border. It really is a crisis. I’ve been there and I’ve seen it firsthand. So I’m hopeful we can get a compromise position.” Bucshon says border security has not been that controversial in the past but it has become a political issue. The government shutdown has affected TSA workers, air traffic controllers and employees of the National Park Service along with other agencies. Jordan RoweWIKY |
