Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement in response to this morning’s 2nd Quarter report of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on economic growth of 1.3 percent. In addition, 1st Quarter GDP growth was revised to 0.4 percent, down sharply from 1.9 percent. “This is not encouraging to see our economy slowing. While we are working to get our fiscal house in order, this is further proof that the economic policies of the Obama Administration has failed the American people. The record deficits and debt crisis has further burdened our economy to the point that it cannot expand at a pace that will jumpstart a recovery. This has been another failed summer of recovery promised by Obama Administration. The American people need certainty from Washington, D.C. in order to invest in the future. To create jobs and grow the economy, we need to stop the reckless spending spree, put an end to onerous and burdensome regulations, and provide certainty in the tax code.” |
