FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: January 26, 2011 Contact: Matthew Ballard; 202-225-4636; matthew.ballard@mail.house.gov Congressman Larry Bucshon Comments on the State of the Union Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union. Congressman Bucshon states: “It was nice to hear President Obama finally focus on jobs and I hope by working with the new Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, we can deliver results for the American people, but after two years of reckless spending and record deficits, the President asking for more of the same in a time when we need leadership and fiscal restraint. Saying that, I’m optimistic with the direction our nation is headed. Having only been in Washington, D.C. a few, short weeks, I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of optimism shared by my colleagues from both sides of the aisle. We were all sent here to do a job and everyone wants to do the right thing for their constituents and the American people.” ### |
