FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: February 14, 2011 Contact: Matthew Ballard; 202-225-4636; matthew.ballard@mail.house.gov Congressman Larry Bucshon: More of the Same with Reckless Spending Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s FY2012 Budget: “The proposed budget for FY2012 will stymie economic growth and hurt job creation because, at the end of the day, it spends too much money that we don’t have. This budget fails to rein in spending, something that each and every citizen has been forced to do during troubling times. It is the highest levels of spending since WWII in terms of a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The current path by the Administration is unsustainable, yet they propose more of the same and have shown little leadership when it comes to deficit reduction. Last November, the American people sent the message to Washington, D.C. that they did not want this recklessness to continue and we must cut up the credit card in order show fiscal restraint. We know the way to create jobs and grow the economy is to cut spending, keep taxes low, and borrow less.” ### |
