Eighth District Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. released the following statement in response to the incident at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center today:

“Every year, countless Hoosiers visit Washington, D.C. to tour the U.S. Capitol Building and to see their government at work. Today, we saw the courageous response of the Capitol Police to protect our Capitol and the people visiting and working in the area. On behalf of the Eighth District of Indiana, I want to extend gratitude and thanks to the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.”

Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. is a physician and Republican member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee serving his third term representing Indiana's 8th Congressional district. The 8th District of Indiana includes all or parts of Clay, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Greene, Knox, Martin, Owen, Parke, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Sullivan, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, and Warrick counties.
