“I got to know Senator Richard Lugar during my first term in Congress, and it was an honor and a privilege to serve alongside one of the giants of Indiana politics. He dedicated his life to Hoosiers and the betterment of America, and in his service he exemplified the dignity and grace of a true statesman every day. His unmatched knowledge of foreign policy issues made our nation stronger and safer. My prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn his passing and honor his lifetime of service.”
