Congressman Larry Bucshon Named “Friend of the Farm Bureau”

(Evansville, IN) – Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement following the American Farm Bureau Federation's congressional award, “Friend of the Farm Bureau,” announcement on September 5, 2012. 

Congressman Bucshon (IN-08) states:

“I am honored to be recognized as a ‘Friend of the Farm Bureau.’  Having grown up in a small, agricultural town, I have always kept the farmers’ best interest in mind.  The agriculture industry is a vital component of Indiana’s economy and I will continue to work to provide disaster relief from the current drought and extend the farm bill before it expires on September 30th.”

            "Congressman Bucshon is truly deserving of the Farm Bureau's congressional award. Congressman Bucshon has established himself as a true champion of agriculture during his tenure and he wants to continue hearing about agriculture issues and finding workable solutions.  Congressman Bucshon has been one of the best representatives I have ever worked with since becoming President of the Indiana Farm Bureau."

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, “The American Farm Bureau Federation's congressional award program is known as the "Friend of Farm Bureau." This award is given to individuals who have supported Farm Bureau issues, as shown by their voting records, and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureau and approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation. The voting records were based on issues selected by the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors.”
