WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement honoring Indiana’s fallen police officers during the 2021 National Police Week between May 9^th – May 15^th . 

“Our communities are safer because of the daily sacrifices made by Hoosier law enforcement. Patrolman Robert Pitts, Officer Charles W. Schmitt, and City Marshal Joseph C. Fishback Sr. are some of the officers who laid down their lives to protect our families, neighborhoods, and communities in Indiana’s 8^th Congressional District,” said Dr. Bucshon. “This National Police Week I want to thank the brave men and women in blue who put their lives on the line every day to keep our streets safe and communities secure.”
