WASHINGTON –  U.S Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. released the following statement in response to today’s announcement that U.S. inflation has risen to its highest rate since 1982. 

“In the one year since President Biden was elected, inflation has risen a staggering 7 percent. In Indiana, this means that the cost of groceries, gas, and rent continue to climb while Hoosiers’ hard-earned dollars continue to buy less at the register. These cost increases are threatening the lives and livelihoods of Hoosiers.  Sadly, this is the predicted result of Washington’s out of control spending under the one-party rule of President Biden and Democrat majorities in Congress. For the sake of American families and the Main Street economy that are being crushed by rising prices, we must get Washington’s spending under control and prioritize the family budget over the federal budget,” said Dr. Bucshon.
