Congressman Larry Bucshon Votes to Fund Military and Cut Spending

Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) made the following statement after passage of the one week funding measure that will fully fund our nation’s military for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2011 and cut $12 billion in spending:

“It has become clear through inaction that the President and Senate Democrats want a Government shutdown for political reasons. With a shutdown, our troops would be left in the field without pay. I will not let petty, partisan politics get in the way of funding our troops. I implore the Senate and the White House to join the House and act to significantly reduce spending and avoid a Government shutdown.”
