Dr. Bucshon Votes to Protect Life

(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after voting in support of the Born Alive Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act (H.R. 4712):

As a physician, I took an oath to do everything within my abilities to protect the sanctity of life at all stages. The Born Alive Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act ensures any child born alive during an abortion procedure receives the same level of professional care that any other child born alive at the same gestational age would receive. Additionally, it mandates that abortion survivors are immediately admitted to a hospital and establishes penalties for those who harm babies born alive. I am ardently pro-life and we must pass this additional language to current law in order to ensure that these children’s lives are protected.”
