(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after House Democrats introduced their Medicare for All legislation (H.R. 1384):

“House Democrats have taken a massive step towards turning American into a socialist nation by introducing their government-run, one-size-fits-all, single-payer health care bill. This bill is a complete takeover of the health care system that will cost American taxpayers $32 trillion over ten years, would eliminate employer sponsored health care plans for 158 million Americans, would end Medicare for seniors as we know it, and by some estimates would eliminate up to two million American jobs. If House Democrats get their way, your health decisions will no longer be yours to make but rather that of a Washington bureaucrat deciding if your life fits within the bottom line.  At the end of the day, one size fits all health care fits no one.”
