Readers' Forum, Sept. 29, 2018: Bucshon clearly understands issue of climate change

Bucshon clearly understands issue of climate change

In his letter you published on Sept. 23, Jim Hughes claims that U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon “has been unable or unwilling to see any link between human made pollution and climate change.”

Having discussed the subject of global warming and climate change in great detail with Rep. Bucshon, I can attest that he has given serious consideration to the facts and science surrounding this question and demonstrated the ability to fully understand the pertinent factors involved.

Rep. Bucshon understands that CO2 in the atmosphere has increased due to human activity but that the predictions by alarmists of resultant catastrophic global warming are grossly exaggerated.

This understanding has been proven correct by satellite-based measurements since 1979 that show that the actual temperature of the earth has only increased by less that one-third the average of the predictions of computer models used by Al Gore to stir up the hysteria and that the temperature has not increased at all in the last 19 years.

Larry Bucshon is both willing and able to handle this subject in the best interests of the 8th District of Indiana. It is alarmists like Jim Hughes, who even consider CO2 to be a pollutant, who will not recognize the facts and the potential harm of climate change hysteria.
