Dr. Bucshon Cosponsors Bill to Ensure Members of Congress Aren’t Exempt from Health Care LegislationEighth District Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. released the following statement after cosponsoring a bill to ensure Member of Congress aren’t exempt from health care legislation: “Laws should be applied to elected representatives just as they are applied to the people they represent,” said Bucshon. “This common-sense bill makes it clear that Congress must live under the rules it creates.” To meet procedural standards that allow legislation to move forward, the bill to repeal and replace Obamacare includes various waivers. H.R. 2192, which Bucshon cosponsored, eliminates the procedural waiver for members of Congress to ensure Congress is not exempt from the law.
