Dr. Bucshon Announces Head Start Grants


(Washington, D.C.) –
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Head Start program announced a new round of grants for program centers across the nation including $1,699,468 for Dubois-Pike-Warrick Economic Opportunity Committee, Inc. and $5,756,221 for Community Action Program of Evansville & Vanderburgh County Inc.

“I am pleased to announce that the Dubois-Pike-Warrick Economic Opportunity Committee and the Community Action Program of Evansville & Vanderburgh County will receive grants from the Department of the Health and Human Services for their Head Start Programs. These hard-earned taxpayer dollars are much-needed resources that will help prepare young Hoosiers for success.”

Background
Head Start promotes school readiness of children under 5 from low-income families through education, health, social and other services. Head Start has served over 30 million children and their families in urban and rural areas in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. territories.
