Bucshon Unveils Discussion Draft on Cyberbullying in Energy and Commerce Hearing

WASHINGTON – Today, as part of a comprehensive package of discussion draft bills released in the Energy and Commerce Committee, Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-Ind.) unveiled a bill to require companies to implement reasonable content moderation practices to address cyberbullying.

“As a father of four, I know just how important it is to keep our children safe from cyberbullying. My bill today aims to tackle cyberbullying in Indiana and nationwide through holding Big Tech accountable for the role their platforms play in allowing this harmful behavior on the internet,” said Congressman Bucshon.

This is part of a larger effort by Ranking Member, Cathy McMorris Rodgers and the Republican members of the Energy and Commerce Committee to hold Big Tech accountable by improving transparency and content moderation accountability, reforming Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, promoting competition, and preventing illegal and harmful activity on their platforms.
