WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-Ind.) issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed that Washington Democrats’ prescription drug pricing controls within the reconciliation plan will raise drug prices for Hoosiers. “The CBO confirmed that the partisan price control provisions contained within Washington Democrats’ reconciliation plan will raise prescription drug prices for Hoosiers. Additionally, the CBO and others have warned that the prescription drug price control schemes pushed by Democrats in Congress could lead to hundreds of fewer cures and treatments never being developed. As a physician, the thought of limiting patients’ access to potentially life-saving cures or treatments is unfathomable. Health care costs are already unaffordable for many families; they must not be asked to pay even more for fewer innovative cures and treatments,” said Dr. Bucshon. |
