WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-Ind.-08) voted in support of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023.
“Today, the House passed a strong and bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act that provides a 4.6 percent pay raise for our men and women in uniform, repeals the Department of Defense’s unjust vaccine mandate for our nation’s servicemembers, and includes critical measures to help maintain our competitive advantage against countries like China and Russia. I am proud to support this year’s bill that will provide the funds our nation’s armed forces need to keep Hoosiers and all Americans safe and secure,” said Congressman Bucshon.

A 4.6% pay raise for servicemembers and improved benefits for families
An additional $750 million to offset rising food and housing costs for servicemembers and families
Reaffirmation of the rights of parents of children attending DoD schools to review curriculum, instructional materials, and disciplinary policies
Measures to further protect the supply chain and defense industrial base against infiltration by the People’s Republic of China (PRC)
