WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-Ind.-08) released the following statement after voting to override President Biden’s veto of H.J. Res. 45, which is legislation that would block President Biden’s unconstitutional student loan bailout. 

“President Biden circumvented Congress to enact a student loan bailout, forcing hard-working Hoosiers who have paid back their loans – or never even took out student loans in the first place – to bailout the student loans of other borrowers.  This is nothing more than an unconstitutional loan transfer scheme that adds more costs to Americans, to the tune of $315.6 billion. President Biden’s attempt to cancel student loan debt only shifts the costs to others and that is unfair and unjust,” said Dr. Bucshon.
