WASHINGTON – This week, U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN-08) joined over 380 of his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives in cosponsoring a resolution to affirm the United States’ unwavering support of Israel. This resolution was introduced following the brutal and inhumane terrorist attack launched by Hamas that has resulted in the death of over 1,200 Israelis and 22 Americans. It reaffirms the U.S. commitment to aid Israel through security assistance and emphasizes support of Israel’s right to self-defense. The resolution also strongly condemns Iran for providing financial support to Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region. Dr. Bucshon released the statement below following the introduction of the resolution:

“It is imperative that the United States unequivocally stands with our ally, Israel, and vehemently condemns the brutal terrorist attack and massacre of innocent men, women, and children perpetrated by Iranian-backed Hamas,” said Dr. Bucshon. “Israel is at war, and in the coming days and weeks the United States has an obligation to offer more than rhetorical solidarity as Israel defends its citizens from terrorism. As images of the horror in Israel continue to surface, we must not look away, but rather address the atrocities head on, providing full support to the Israeli people.”

Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. represents Indiana’s 8^th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives and is a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
