Rep. Bucshon Votes to Support Israel, Provide Critical Funding

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-IN-08) voted to support the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act (H.R. 6126), which provides critical supplemental funding for Israel. This vote reaffirms Dr. Bucshon’s unwavering support for Israel following the brutal and inhumane terrorist attack launched by Hamas, which has resulted in the death of over 1,400 Israelis and 33 Americans. Dr. Bucshon, who is a cosponsor of H.R. 6126, released the statement below following his vote:

“I was proud to join my colleagues in voting to provide critical financial support to our key ally and friend, Israel, during their extreme hour of need,” said Dr. Bucshon. “The United States has an obligation to offer more than rhetorical solidarity as Israel actively defends herself from terrorism. This supplemental funding package provides critical resources that Israel needs to defend itself in a fiscally responsible approach by offsetting it by rescinding some of the Biden administration’s extra $80 billion that was given to the IRS to audit middle-class Americans through the Inflation Reduction Act. Washington’s inability to control its spending addiction has resulted in the federal debt breaching $33 trillion for the first time ever and record high inflation for Hoosiers. House Republicans are committed to supporting Israel, emphasizing peace through strength, while ensuring we do not provide this critical support for Israel today at the expense of the futures of our children and grandchildren tomorrow.”

Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. represents Indiana’s 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives and is a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
