Dr. Bucshon Stands with President Trump for Increased Accountability for Iran

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the follow statement in response to legislation passed by the House of Representatives to hold Iran accountable:

The Obama Administration’s failed nuclear deal with Iran not only preserved Iran’s nuclear program, it also put billions of dollars into the hands of organizations that kill Americans, provided no substantial assurances for verification, and actually made it easier for Russia to deal weapons to Iran by lifting the arms embargo. I commend President Trump on taking action against Iran. We cannot stand idly by while Iran continues to disregard current and past agreements, fuels state-sponsored terrorism, and vows to eliminate Israel,” said Dr. Bucshon. “This week we took steps to hold Iran accountable for continuing to fuel conflict and terrorism by voting on a series of bills, and a resolution, that are aimed at eliminating financial assistance, weapons trading, and human rights violations.”
