Rep. Bucshon attends roundtable in Evansville about drug crisis

And we're gonna be working towards making sure that people have the financial resources to do what they do."

EVANSVILLE (WEHT) - Congressman Larry Bucshon was in the Tri-State Tuesday learning firsthand the extent of the area's drug abuse crisis.

Rep. Bucshon was in attendance at the substance abuse council's roundtable held in downtown Evansville.

Rep. Bucshon said it is important to hear from subject matter experts that deal with the issue everyday.

"What I try to do is get across what the federal government has done,” said Rep. Bucshon. “At this point, I learned that a lot of the stuff we've done may not have totally trickled down yet to the local communities. And we're gonna be working towards making sure that people have the financial resources to do what they do."

The republican congressman said there is no silver bullet or quick solution to address the problem, it will take education, treatment ,and improved access to therapy.
