(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after voting in support of bicameral, bipartisan, long-term Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization and disaster reform legislation (H.R. 302):

“This long-term FAA reauthorization makes much needed investments to reform and improve our nation’s aviation infrastructure. Through the modernization and advancement of our airports and air traffic control system, we can connect our communities with stronger transportation networks, cut red tape for job creators, and strengthen travel safety to enhance the safety and security of passengers. In addition, this legislation recognizes the advantages of taking action to secure our nation’s infrastructure before catastrophic events occur. Reforms to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mean greater assistance in the wake of disaster, but also the ability to invest in pre-disaster hazard management.”
