Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement in regards to his Yes votes on H.R. 1229 – Putting the Gulf Back to Work Act and H.R. 1231 – Reversing President Obama’s Offshore Moratorium Act.

Congressman Bucshon states:

“With gas prices rising across our nation, it is important that we end these onerous regulations that hurt job growth and limit our ability to produce domestic sources of energy.  These bills are a part of the collective, all-the-above approach that we must adopt in order to reduce our dependency on foreign oil.

By expanding drilling off of our nation’s shores, we are working to create jobs and also provide relief for Americans who are tightening their belts even more due to higher gas prices.  It is imperative that we provide solutions to our nation’s problems and address the issues of high unemployment and high energy costs.  These bills do both and I am proud to have supported them.”
