Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement regarding the May jobless rate increasing to 9.1 percent.

Congressman Bucshon states:

“This is a clear indication that President Obama’s policies have failed.  His plan to tax and spend our way to recovery and economic prosperity is obviously not working.  We need fiscal restraint and stability in order for job creators to invest in our economy and get Hoosiers back to work.

Just this week, we sent a clear message to President Obama by rejecting legislation to raise the debt ceiling without major spending reforms.  I was sent to Washington, D.C. by Hoosiers that want our government to get its fiscal house in order.  If they have to make tough decisions about spending and tighten their belts, so should our government.”
