(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after legislation to honor Ernie Pyle – a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and Hoosier hero by designating the U.S. Post Office located in his hometown of Dana, Indiana as the Ernest ‘Ernie’ T. Pyle Post Office was signed into law by President Trump:

“I am honored to be part of this momentous occasion to rename the Post Office in Dana, Indiana as the Ernest ‘Ernie’ T. Pyle Post Office. This was made possible with the help of the entire Indiana Congressional Delegation and the input of Mr. Pyle’s family. Ernie Pyle was a Hoosier hero that reported from the front lines on the immense efforts of the fighting men and women of our armed forces in during World War II, ultimately giving his life in the Pacific theater in that endeavor. May his memory live on and his contributions to our nation and those who served on the front lines to defend freedom never be forgotten.”
