Dr. Bucshon Votes to Protect Coal Mining Jobs
Washington, DC,
March 25, 2014
On Tuesday, Congressman Larry Bucshon, a physician from Southern Indiana, voted to pass H.R. 2824, the Preventing Government Waste and Protecting Coal Mining Jobs in America Act, a bill to provide certainty to the coal industry and protect taxpayer dollars. Bucshon released the following statement regarding the passage of H.R. 2824: “Our communities depend on coal, yet the President and his Administration have waged a war against the jobs and affordable energy the industry supports from day one. Through endless regulations and arbitrary standards, the Obama Administration has created unnecessary uncertainty for the industry and the families that depend on it. Not to mention, the endless process of writing and rewriting regulation has wasted taxpayer dollars. With this bill, we ease the undue burden on the industry and help protect coal jobs and taxpayer dollars.” More information on H.R. 2824 and a list of myths vs. facts can be found here. |
