Congressman Larry Bucshon Votes for Small Business Tax Cut
Washington, DC,
April 19, 2012
Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following comment after voting for H.R. 9, the Small Business Tax Cut Act of 2012. The bill passed by a vote of 235-173. Congressman Bucshon (IN-08) states: “With individuals and small businesses filing their annual tax returns earlier this week, we realize that those working to create jobs are often burdened by the current tax code. With a majority of job creation coming from small businesses over the past few decades, providing tax relief to that sector of our economy can help get Americans working again. “In Indiana, this means the numerous small businesses operating in the state will be able to reinvest capital to grow and expand. These businesses provide over 1 million jobs to Hoosiers and providing them with necessary tax relief is a step in the right direction.” Background: According to the Small Business Administration, in 2009, there are more than 109,000 small businesses with between 1 and 500 employees in Indiana. These businesses employ 1,185,900 individuals. For more information on how the Small Business Tax Cut helps Indiana, please review this fact sheet here. ### |
