Congressman Larry Bucshon on Obama Administration Halting Illegal Immigrant Deportations

(Evansville, IN) - Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following statement in regards to the Obama administration’s decision to offer immunity to illegal immigrants.

“This blatant disregard for the legislative process and immigration law is not that surprising coming from this Administration.  It is the Executive Branch’s responsibility to enforce the laws passed by Congress, not pick and choose which ones to ignore.  Any changes to immigration policy should be debated in Congress, not in backrooms by the Obama administration. 

“I am deeply disappointed in the Obama administration’s decision to circumvent Congress and issue rules on immigration policy.  We must enforce current laws on immigration and protect our borders.  I believe in commonsense immigration reform, not backdoor amnesty.”
