This bill is a direct result of successful negotiations led by President Donald Trump. 

"The truth of the matter here is that what happened is the American people won and the president negotiated that victory for them," said OMB Director Mulvaney.

SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS

In a speech at the Air Force Academy on Tuesday, President Trump highlighted the massive investment in our nation's military:

"With this major investment in America's national defense, a core campaign promise of mine, we are at last reversing years of military cuts and showing our determination and resolve to the entire world — and believe me, the entire world is watching — and we have resolved like never, ever before," said President Trump. 

Which also includes a pay raise for our men and women in uniform.

All without a dollar-for-dollar increase in non-military spending, which has been a significant priority for the Democrats.

SECURING THE BORDER

On Tuesday, President Trump also celebrated the down payment on border security.

"This includes swiftly replacing ineffective and failing fencing and walls with an unbreakable barrier...We have more money now for the border than we've gotten in 10 years. The Democrats didn't tell you that. They forgot," said President Trump.
